Every year in Ireland, nearly 2,500 women are diagnosed with breast cancer - we all directly or indirectly know someone affected by it. The Prince Bar and Karma Club, Athlone are combining their efforts to raise money on Friday October 8 for Pink Ribbon Day.

This October designer Orla Kiely will launch a new exclusive accessories collection in Ireland to support Fashion Targets Breast Cancer in aid of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society and Europa Donna Ireland.

Connacht rugby legend Michael Swift and his girlfriend Bláithnaid O’Donoghue were on hand at Brown Thomas Galway recently to officially launch the 2009 Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Ireland campaign in aid of Action Breast Cancer (a programme of the Irish Cancer Society) and Europa Donna Ireland.

The Mayo Cancer Support Association will receive a cheque for over €2,000 which was raised through Aramark Ireland’s inaugural Charity Cupcake Campaign. The campaign raised over €8,500 in total for Aramark’s Charitable fund which comprises Action Breast Cancer, the Jack and Jill Foundation, the Mayo Cancer Support Association and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month there will be a coffee morning in the Bay Leaf Restaurant at Horkan’s Garden Centre, Turlough on October 14 from 10am to 12 noon. All are welcome to attend what promises to be a pleasant and enjoyable morning.

Peter Mark and ghd have done it again, and this autumn they launch the Pink Limited Edition box set to raise some much needed funds for Action Breast Cancer.
